What Is Relo Grinding Media ?
Relo Grinding Media is a new innovative form of media, usable in mining, cement and materials processing.
How Does It Work
The patented technology includes a novel shape that delivers a combination hammer action and normal grinding. The increased active surface area, when combined with optimisation of the mill speed and media charge, gives a more efficient and effective grinding media vs spheres and cylpebs.
What Are The Benefits?
- The increase in grinding efficiency allows the sag or ball mill to run at lower speed (reduced energy)
- Throughput proven to increase by 10-40% (for the same input parameters)
- Energy consumption shown to decrease by up to 40% (and thus CO2 emissions reduce too)
- The novel shape and lower mill speed decreases wear rate for the lining and media (save direct costs)
What Are the Success Stories?
Whilst this is still an emerging technology, there are numerous success stories ranging from lab tests through plant trials to production deployments. Most customers are seeing >15% grinding efficiency improvement which can lead to the same or more in throughput increase, alongside substantial energy/CO2 reductions.
